Emergent Ventures’ Solar SBU (EVI Solar) participated in the 8th Renewable Energy Expo-2014 held at Greater Noida from 3rd to 5th September 2014. EVI Solar exhibited its capabilities to provide turnkey solutions to rooftop projects. Apart from exhibiting, Emergent Ventures contributed to the conferences held during the Expo by delivering presentations and moderating sessions.
Mr. Vinod Kala, the Managing Director, Emergent Ventures moderated two sessions at the Expo conference on “Solar Power-A Potential Game Changer” and “Changing Winds cape- New Business Opportunities”. The session on Solar power focused on the following points:
- The story so far –A reality check
- Prospects for non-recourse financing
- Favorable tax structures and financial resources to fund projects
- Capacity building initiatives
Dr. Jami Hossain, Chief Mentor, WinDForce Management Services delivered a presentation on Global Trends in wind Technology and role of offshore in which he covered the emerging trends in installation, technology and advances in engineering. An in-depth case study of wind installations, geographical expansion, ratings of wind turbines, tower heights, rotor diameters, offshore and higher penetration in grid was conducted by him during his session. He projected in his presentation that the Wind Industry might reach a potential of 50 GW by 2020 in India.
