A Round table Discussion jointly organised by Indian Institute of Technology – Kanpur and ETI Dynamics under the auspices of the Textile Association of India (TAI) in New Delhi on November 8, 2013, served as a platform to discuss various international/ domestic aides and technological/ financial solutions for implementing ZLD mechanism.
This discussion brought together textile mill owners, representatives from Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF), and prominent people from technology and financial institutions.
Shruti Mittal, Consultant, Emergent Ventures India, represented TAI at the event, where she mapped the state of the Industry & current bottlenecks in implementation of ZLD. Shruti highlighted the importance of ZLDs in the Indian Textile Industry, and its rising prominence, in the wake of large-scale relocation of chemical and textile manufacturing to Global South.
